Michael C. Peterson, CFLS
About
Michael C. Peterson attended the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon from 1998 to 2002. There he earned a bachelor's degree in economics, graduating cum laude, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa and Golden Key national honors societies.
He next attended the University of Oregon School of Law in Eugene, Oregon, from 2003 to 2006. Mr. Peterson was admitted into the Washington State Bar Association in January of 2007, and practiced there for a short time before leaving the rains of the northwest for the sun of the Coachella Valley. He was admitted into the State Bar of California in December of 2009. He relates extremely well with men and woman aged in their 30's and 40's, who find themselves enmeshed in the unfortunate throes of relationship break-up.
He joined Arnold & Peterson, LLP in December of 2011.
Mr. Peterson has a proven track record of skillful negotiation, law and motion practice, oral argument, and trial work. He has conducted and won a growing number of family law cases. Truth be told, he doesn't lose and he has become, without doubt, a divorce expert! He is a brilliant legal reasoner and writer, and has authored a ton of insightful legal articles that we have published on our Enlightened Divorce Blog™.
He honors our veterans, and he knows divorce within the military law context better than any other lawyer in Riverside or San Bernardino Counties. He loves complex litigation, but settling cases cheaply and amicably even more so - although, sadly, it takes two to settle.

- Mike Peterson is a Certified Family Law Specialist. This is no small achievement: Not only do such specialists take a second Bar Examination that tests their comprehension of complex family law matters, they must pass an exhaustive review of their courtroom trial experience and professional ethics. He is terrific in move-away and child custody and support cases, and in getting the best spousal support awards (and avoiding them also) for our clients. He is highly regarded by the Judges in Indio, Joshua Tree, and Riverside and beyond.

We look forward to the coming year and to what he achieves during his public service to the local bench and family law attorneys, particularly in the Indio and Joshua Tree family courts!
